William Kaiako Kalili Jr, commonly known as Iako, originated from Kona, Hawaii, and embarked on his military journey by joining the Hawaii National Guard in 1996. His passion for serving led him to pursue a role as an Airborne Infantryman within the prestigious 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, NC, where he later deployed to Iraq in 2003 during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Transitioning to Fort Benning, GA in 2004, Iako's expertise in hand-to-hand combat flourished as he became instrumental in developing the Army's Combatives Program. His contributions spanned over seven years, during which he helped shape the Combatives manual and led quality assurance initiatives. After an illustrious 21-year military career, Iako was Honorably Discharged in 2017, boasting the rank of Sergeant First Class and standing as one of only twelve Army Combatives Black Belts. Presently, he serves as the Security Director for the renowned heavy metal/rock band, Five Finger Death Punch, offering comprehensive personal and executive protection.
